Hey Kid-1 shot won't cut it. You still would need a booster shot if you were scratched, punctured, or bitten by a crazy female urban explorer!!!

A person with a documented series of three tetanus- and diphtheria-containing shots (Td or Tdap) who has received a booster dose within the last ten years should be protected. However, to ensure adequate protection, a booster dose of vaccine may still be given if it has been more than five years since the last dose and the wound is other than clean and minor.

Years ago I stepped on a 4 inch spiral aluminum siding nail sticking straight up in a piece of old siding. I had 3 tetanus shots from prior issues to my "working on my house on vacation" incident. Still ended up with 2 red lines going up my leg to my inner & outer thigh. 10 days in the hospital-5 different bags of IV antibiotics around the clock didn't help. I was lucky because my doctor had come into my room on the 6th day, without giving me a choice made me sign operation papers & rushed me to OR because the last blood test & culture was indicating my foot may have to be removed. Had to have my foot peeled open like a banana to have the docs find a piece of my crappy ass shoe embedded into one of the bones in my foot. I not only had a skin/cellular infection, but there was an infection in my bone. Don't mess with tetanus-I don't know you personally-but you seem like a good kid and would not want anything to happen to you because you had a false sense of tetanus shot safety. Best to go to the doctor & get cleaned up & a booster. This goes for all you other road warriors too.
