Many gripes...bad overall quality

I bought the HHR used in 2011 and love the room, the ride and gas mileage, but little problems like this make me regret buying it:
  • stuck ignition (bad key tumblers: fixed twice...pre-recall, still have to get THAT done) 45k
  • power steering motor replaced at 60k
  • two broken interior front door handles 50k drivers, 65k passengers
  • paint peeled off the wheel covers 50k
  • windshield washer pump popped out (won't seal again) 50k
  • radio/sound not working 80k (two days ago)

Some of it's nickle and dime stuff but all very annoying. The chance I'll buy another chevy (last one was an '88 cavalier)...very slim

Glad you have confidence because you bought a lemon...They are not all that way. I bore through mine having hiccups, and it now treats me quite well.

In my view......

SELLING such a good and recent model only provides evidence that it was a "lemon" to the prior owner....that's why he sold or traded it.

Joking aside...Since you provided a rant, I'll offer my sympathies for you problems. You asked no questions or assistance, so I won' provide any answers or suggested solutions.

I agree, it's lemonade time. I have overt 100k miles and I've only done maintenance and still on stock battery which is almost 8 years old.

I'm sorry.

Did you ask us for help? Or, did you think this is a "I hate GM" blogspot?

Anyhow your post is in the wrong section of the forum. I think the Lounge would be a better place.

I believe a "Lemon" is when the SAME repair is ongoing, or they are unable to repair after a certain number of attempts...

in the 'Big Scheme' of things, these are relatively minor. But I know how you feel, nowadays, ANY little thing wrong is a nuisance to me too.
but it is a great little car, and the longer you own it the more you'll like it.

I don't get the washer pump thing. It just plugs into a grommet and is held in by friction at the top. Maybe you are experiencing the broken pump inner seal syndrome wherein the pump leaks instead of pumping, this is generally caused by freezing. Cure is a new pump; Ebay has them for about $34. Very easy replacement procedure, no tools required (maybe needle nose pliers).

The rest of your complaints are real old news.

Moving to "the lounge" as there are no requests involving "Problems/Service/Repairs" only Bee itching.
