HHR Build Quality
I bought my HHR on Saturday night, so I used my 4th of July holiday to get all the rail dust off it. What a mess that was. I've never seen a car with rail dust so bad.
Anyway, while be overly meticulous with claying and detailing, I couldn't help but notice the seems between the body panels. They are all very small (no large gaps), even from top to bottom or side to side, and they are the same on both sides. I must say, I am impressed that GM would supply this kind of quality to one of their economy cars. Other brands should take note of this.

Chevrolet did a wonderful job of making the HHR. What more could a person ask for from a car. It's stylish, fun to drive, well put together and different from all the other new cars on the market. And the price...that's the best part. It's no wonder they are flying off the dealer lots during this 0% financing offer.

My only quality complaint so far is a small paint run just below the lower corner of window on the drivers side rear door. Barely noticeable only about a 1/4" long but noticable if you look really close.

Zero Defects upon delivery in mid May, 2006.
Just under 6,000 highway miles driven thus far.
I rack up approximately 1,000 per week (mostly all highway driving), so we will see what happens as time goes on at a rather rapid rate.
The Firestone Firehawk tires have already worn down (evenly) 1/32". At that rate I suspect 40,000 to 45,000 miles will likely be it for a set of tires with a safe amount of tread life remaining.
With all highway driving conditions, I plan to rotate the tires at 7,000 miles.
