The headers are in the pics. The headers fit fine, they had to be modified from the way they were shipped to clear the motor mounts, but everything is fine.

If you were breaking diffs, you must of had a 240z or 260z, or a 280z with auto from the factory. Those cars came with R180 rear ends (180mm ring gear) that would break under factory power n/a.
Factory stick 280z's came with the much stronger R200 (200mm ring gear) and I've only seen a handfull of those broken under sub 11 second cars. My 280z is a factory stick car with the R200 open w/3.54 gears. The weak link then becomes the factory U-Joint type axles. Read on....
However, I am swapping out to a 3.69 geared, R230 diff (230mm ring gear or 9 inches) with vLSD (viscous limited slip differental) and CV joints from a '90's Nissan Skyline (Only sold in Japan) and I've never heard of a either a R230 CV or diff breaking, even behind 1000HP twin-turbo'd race engines. The R230 install will take some crafty fabbing and custom Moser axles, but has been done before.
Well I go my starter and fired it up today. Ran it for about 10 mins until I noticed my electric temp gauge hadn't moved (Sport-Comp). I didn't want to risk cooking my new motor so I shut it down. Looks like the gauge is junk. So I am prob going to just bite the bullet and just buy another gauge, but mechanical this time.
The motor sounds good, but I won't breathe easier until I have at least 20-30 total cam break-in time.
Anyway, more pictures:
I still need to cleanup all the useless wires:

Its running now. I had the exhaust installed on Friday afternoon. I've driven it about 50 miles now, including to the local Sonic for Friday night. It drew a small crowd. :bigthumb:
Runs pretty good, still needs alittle carb tuning. However, the carb I have now is only a 650 cfm Double Pumper Holley. Later I'll be stepping up to at least a 800-850.
I haven't rev'd above 3000 yet due to the fact that I didn't install the inter valve springs when I was assembling the heads. I wanted the spring pressure low to make the cam break-in easier. Next weekend I'll prob tear off the valvetrain and swap in the inter valvesprings. After that is taken care of I'll be able to rev the motor freely.
If I had a video camera I would post a vid of the car running for you guys. Honestly its alittle loud for my taste.
