My Dad's new ride & Mom's new speeding ticket.
Busy morning here, no HHR's involved, gonna have to change that before the day is out.
Went out with Mom in my new Challenger for coffee this morning to talk about her upcoming cancer surgery and other things. She drove back to our condo and managed to get stopped for speeding, I didn't see the cruiser since I was too busy "playing" with the radio/nav system in the new car. While Mom is somewhat less than amused about making an involuntary contribution to the North Carolina highway find, I'm kinda tickled that Mom can still "stand on it" even as sick as she now is.
After parking the R/T Dad and I headed up to the Buick dealer to see about a new ride for him, he's been driving the same old maroon LeSabre for fifteen years. Well "Mr. Buick" got himself a new toy in the form of a 2011 Enclave CXL in maroon of course(my Dad is responsible for my utter dislike of maroon on anything), and its pretty nice. We did some horse trading and got from the sticker of $50,506 down to a more reasonable $44,000 with the rebate figured in, then they allowed $1,500 on the Lesabre(very generous since I had a figure of $5 in mind). Its loaded with every option and it drives like a big fluffy marshmallow with wheels, he loves it so that's all the matters. Here's a pic of the new beast in all of its maroon-ness.

I will say the new buicks are sexy, but I rather like the new Cadillac XLR. Its sexy AND a beast.
Mike, glad to hear dad got what he wanted. And i'm still chuckling how your mom and I got speeding tickets less than 2 weeks apart.

Mom is a little chagrined about the ticket, and my Challenger now has a "criminal record" with only 91 miles on the clock, but I'm sure writing a 70 year old lady in a black R/T up for speeding made the officer's day.
Dad thinks he's figured out 50% of the electronic goodies on the Buick, the rear seat DVD system with 500 watt surround sound is pretty dang cool, who needs a home theater?

Those Enclaves are beautiful. Buick did a real bang-up job on them. Normally for a utilitarian vehicle I would prefer a 'boxy' profile, but with the looks of the Enclave, I'd willing give up a few cubic feet of space.......

The Officer got a speeding ticket? No way! You can't be serious. You would think the officer would drive the speed limit all the time no matter what, well, because he's an officer. Officer's don't speed, no way... J/K, just giving you a hard time.
