My Latest Repair Project

Since the wife's car went into that timing chain frenzy, seems as if equipment is taking turns keeping me wrenching. Haven't wrenched this hard since I was in Iraq. Lol.

So yeah, to help alleviate my stress I am just going to talk about it here.

I have a New Holland L785 SkidSteer. Was lifting a pallet of bricks up and then "Thud, squeel, and crunch" water pump shaft snaps, cooling fan and pulley frenzy around and tear up the radiator... -_-
Call the dealer and find out they want 2700 dollars for a radiator, waterpump, cooling fan, and serpentine belt. Asked if that price came with thet manufacturer moldings, laughed and hung up the phone.

Went to the messicks website, and no joke, the stupid fan itself was 380 dollars, don't even want to tell about the price of the other stuff...

So I hunted down the parts and saved myself about 2k and waiting for the stuff to come in now. But here are some pictures of the damage and what I have been doing to it.

So far, I have repaired the wiring on the alternator, got new rad hoses, new coolant heater for cold start, painted the rocker cover (waiting for new gasket) disassembled and cleaned the fuel injectors, changed the oil and filter, changed the fuel filters, changed the air filters (dated Feb of 1990), and pretty much cleaned it up.

It's been a good and faithful SkidSteer and deserves some TLC.
