I switched to the Zero Turns a couple of mowers ago, now rocking an Exmark 54"

That Cub is sexy and the seat looks comfortable.
Yep, nice tractor FMG-

I went to Zero Turn as well back in 2014, with a New 100 year anniversary Toro, sporting a V-twin Kawasaki, it is a beast..

Yeah. Thought about a zero turn. I have driven them before. My issue is a bum shoulder that makes me resort to 1 arm steering when my shoulder acts up.
I know they have steering wheel zero turns but didn't like that idea, so just stayed with the "regular" style mower.

Wonder if Cub Cadet offers a Stage 1 kit ? A little more power and speed is always nice.
Heck. It's got a chipped ignition key. Maybe there's some way to do a tune on it.
(OK. Hope you don't think I'm serious about this)

FMG-

I understand about ya sticking to a tractor, They are great. There are a few Cubs in my neck of the woods too,. Yours is from the "cut above group" looks like to me.

I don't know about the Stage 1 for your Kohler ? But when my Kawasaki hit 100 hours, it seemed like it got a "tune", it really went thru a change, broke in, is my reasoning. I only have 117.4 hours on it. Next month on the 20th I will have had it 5 years. I love it, And Yes I wax it after servicing it at end of each season..

Good luck with your newest Hot Rod. Good mower.

PS: On my last tractor, I installed a Brody knob on the steering wheel. I could whip that baby quickly, one hand.

Yes a fabricated deck can be welded together.
The deck looks plastic.
So I ask. Is it a composite ?
Newer technology so decks don't rot out.

Composite ? No. I thought Greybeard999's post told you the details that it's made of steel. I didn't answer your original question because Greybeard's response seemed to cover those details.
I doubt I'll ever have to worry about the deck "rotting" out. I will not cut wet grass with my new mower. Never did that with the old mower and it lasted 20 years with only 1 small rust thru (I patched that up several years ago)
Deck looks plastic ? Not sure where you get that from the picture. It's a brand new mower with a gloss black powder coat paint job on a steel deck.

Cat Man- If you are looking at the yellow spindle covers & black discharge chute, those are likely a poly type material. But FMG's deck is good old Flat Steel.. And the heavy powder coating does make it looklike it could be composite, but looks are deceiving in this case. ..

now honda has a walk behind mower that does have composite deck & plastic/poly carb. Not my thing at all.

Sleeper I just looked again at the picture and yes I was looking at the spindle cover. Sorry for my ignorance.
