My new SS.....
My new SS.....
I know its not an HHR, so it really doesn't belong here, but would anybody like to see my new SS? Picked it up today and its really the muscle car I've always wanted and dreamed of. I had to sell off my Corvair 500 and Monza to be able to afford this.
Its a 1967 SS 427 in triple black. The engine is the L-36 427/385 hp big block backed with a turbo 400 transmission. Other options include factory A/C, power disc brakes, and AM/FM radio with 8-Track(!). One owner from new with 34,000 miles and a full body off restoration in 2004. And it goes like stink!

The plate when it comes will read ONLY 4, only four ever made in this particular combination. I really had to fight back tears when I started it up for the first time, its truly special.
Nice catch!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My mom had a 65 SS that was dark maroon (GMs favorite color of choice to crack) and was the last year of the 6 tail lights that stuck out. She had the 327 with automatic & stock steelies with SS Hubcaps (yeah-I said hubcaps). I have pics somewhere around that I could scan. For now I found this video of someone elses with manual. Moms 65 paint had lost its shine but the interior was still mint except for matching black color low pile carper for the rear window deck because the sun was cracking the original painted cardboard & I remember the interior got super hot in the summer. Thank god for cranking vent windows!
Again-great ride you have-cherish it well!
