Cool My Rental for the Weekend

Bad news is that I had to go out of town due to an illness in Judy's family this weekend.

Good news is I asked for a full size car and was pleased to come out and find this waiting in the parking spot:

2008 Chevy Impala SS... has some pretty nice pickup and go but I miss the HHR SS. Still not too shabby for a rental at $23/day

Wow, now that's not a hard pill to swallow. Think they would mind if you threw some red overlays and a tune on it?

You gonna sign up to Impala forums too?

HHR rental car

OK, so you could rent a 'car' (any car) but you didn't rent the most obvious rental there is? One that is very similar to what you're driving already (an HHR)????
I know, they didn't have any S/S's to rent, right?

They did have a couple of HHRs but no SS's unfortunately. I didn't ask for the Impala SS so it was a welcome sight as it could very well have been any full size granny car.

And if I had known ahead, my first choice would have been with Enterprise... they had two Dodge Challengers sitting in their holding pen.

Something similar happened to me when I flew into St Louis last year. I had a car reserved, but they ran out of the normal stock when I got in at about 11PM. They gave me a Pontiac G8 GT instead. Great way to test drive a 6.0L.
