I made inquiries. National driver's license valid for the whole territory U.S. within 6 months after arrival. In addition, the traffic police loyal to the tourists. American law very logical (if not taken into account case law system), U.S. law does not jump on people for nothing.

thanks for the tip-off. KrashKadillak recommended the same thing. I wrote to these people, but never got response. Maybe I'm doing something wrong (stupid Russian, could not be helped). Perhaps the time was not ripe (Nov. far). In any case, I keep this site and similar sites to inspection. Thanks again.

Guys!
If I delivery someone else's car - I need insurance.
This is a mandatory requirement. I'm not mistaken?
So ..
1. What are the risks into standard insurance policy. Third-party liability? Damage caused to the car? The loss or theft of a car?
2. How much does a standard insurance policy? I plan to travel 12 - 15 days.
3. If I suggest the owner to purchase insurance at his expense. He's not surprised? (Possibly in the U.S., it is not accepted). In the policy should be my name?
Let us know what problems may arise when buying a policy. What to watch closely.

Not sure on the insurance issue, geg. I would check with the drive-away company on that issue. In the U.S., the insurance goes with the car, not the driver, so if the car has insurance, it should cover YOU to drive it. (But check first...)

As to law enforcement, I think you'll find that the state troopers or Highway Patrol try to be very lenient to travelers, except in cases of 'driving under the influence' . Just be friendly and follow their instructions and you should be OK. One note: If you are on a multi-lane DIVIDED highway and are being pulled over, DO NOT pull to the left into the middle area (the median is what we call it). Always pull to the right shoulder of the road, in a safe stopping area. In fact, if there is a highway exit close by, exit the highway then pull over (but don't go too far.

excellent practical advice, guys.
I will do so.
The police nervous work. I do not want to have a bullet in my head for nothing.

About insurance ...
I think if a guy need insurance - they decide what is its quality and protective properties. He will choose it for themselves and buy at his expense. In turn, I will Shrunk the shipping cost on the value of insurance premium. Important for me to have a car, and my income is just a nice addition. I can easily move down on $ 100 - $ 150.

I have understanding of how it looks in the USA. Only little ..
According to Russian television twist TV program about how the American traffic police identify and catch criminals. Documentary footage.
My impression. American police are very professional, but very slow.
And very correctness, funny. Different from the Hollywood image.

Oh! That would be great!
Thank you.

Just talk to him on the phone - I do not have possible. My lousy English does not allow.
Correspondence - well, I use a translator.
