Under 18 yrs old, have to get 50hrs driving, signed off, with licensed driver, before you get license.
That rolling stop thing could`ve been the teller for you, Dad. Being a firefighters son doesn`t help/count the moments before the big Boom.
Being too eager too give your veh. to your kid , has messed up a lotta days.

She got the license with no problems, except a 2 hour wait, and we had an appointment. We had to go by the insurance company to sign her up. They give all young drivers a lecture on safety, etc. I left work at 2:15, and we got home at 5:30. What a mess! She drove the Monte Carlo to Wal-Mart by herself last night. Thank you all for thinking of me yesterday. I know now how my parents felt when I was 16. BTW, SIHHR, she definitely doesn't get to drive the HHR for a while.

Glad to hear all went well with her test. Sounds like your state has some good laws in effect. It's very scary when a child gets a drivers license...I remember when mine did. And to think, my grandson who is 11 now will be getting his in 5 years.

Things wil be fine and it sounds like you've go your bases covered. As long as kids understand what a huge responsibility driving a car is, that's half the battle. One thing I did remind my kids of was, driving is a privilege and not a right...and if you abuse the privilege, it can be taken away. Never had any problems with my girls with that philosophy.
