The new SS
Just saw this on Yahoo. The new Chevy SS. I think I liked the G8 better.

Actually I think they ARE the same BODY. They just seem to have changed the front and rear. But the cabin area from the A-C pillars is the same. Even the mirrors are the same ones. The windows are the same, the doors lines are the same. Hmm but this is supposedly built on the Camero platform. Was the Camero platform taken from the G8/Holden.

Autos are boring to me. Even if it can be shifted manually I still find them boring most of the time. Although my first drive of a GP comp G back in 03 was fun with the paddle shifting. But then a little while later driving the GTO 6spd made me forget about that GP lol.
I will say that a comp G would have been the only auto that I would have gotten when I bought my HHR. Anything else had to be a stick. But I am not buying for driving down the 1/4 mile so I really do not care about saving a couple 10th's of a second between shifts.

Oh, I don't know. I wouldn't want one; I aready have an 05 GTO that I only drive now and then but the appeal of a 415 hp and 415 lb-ft of torque 6.2 liter LS3 Corvette engine used and 6 spd automatic transmission with steering wheel-mounted shift paddles will probably get attention. It is essentially the latest incarnation of the Pontiac G8 GXP and I'll bet the 6 spd manual will be available later if not initially. Note that one of the pictures appears to show a 6 speed. But GM will have to do a better job of marketing this car than they did with the G8 (and the 04-06 GTO).

I agree about the performance appeal which was why I realy liked the G8. A big plus for it is the RWD since that will bring a lot of memories to the older crowd.
