Each political party has a responsibility to offer candidates that are worthy of our votes regardless of sex or race. So far, both parties have failed.

I like the AARP TV adds where they have children saying to the candidates don't tell us unless you can or will. What a concept.

The problem with the possibility of a female president at this point in time has a great deal to do with those who hate us most. Radical Muslims. They dont repsect women, believe that they shouldnt be allowed to { vote, drive, be seen in public without being covered from head to toe, be educated, be opionated and so on and so forth} So while we might like to take the high road and say that our president male or female doesnt make a difference is false. It would be taken as a sign of open weakness, leaving us (in their minds) a even bigger target for attack.
The botom line being, at this time while we are at war with an idea (terrorism) we are actually in a religous war with islamic extremists. The basis of the extremists is that there is no middle ground, yield or die. Much like the upheaval surrounding the danish cartoons. "Its forbidden to have a picture of muhammed!!" No its forbidden for muslims to have a picture of muhammed. I as a non muslim am perfectly fine with it. I dont burn flags and destroy buildings everytime one of them blasts christ, or buddha or any other of the religous icons that they dont believe in.
This is the mindset that we are dealing with. Until we come to terms with that we are going to have a long road hard ahead of us. But in any event, whomever the sheeple decide to choose, i do hope they are smart enough to stay away from those who take our liberty in trade for supposed security. Be it guns, phone taps, or even just labeling people enemy combatants, nothing they have shown me yet says that i should give up anything for the "security" that they in reality can not provide.

While I agree with you, to a point, I also believe if we have a great leader who happens to be a woman, we shouldn't let what our enemies believe dictate our elections. If we bow down to them because of what THEY believe, we have lost. If we have a woman president who is a strong leader like a Margaret Thatcher, they would be very foolish to see that as a sign of weakness.

Oh, dont get me wrong, i'm not syaing that if there were an acceptable female candidate that we should think twice about voting for her. What im saying is that if we pick a woman, especially one that they will see as weak, we should be prepared to bare our teeth when the time arrises.
Through their religous convictions, they already deface women as a whole. They would absolutely see any woman in a position of power as emasculating, and proof of their superiority.

We should never bow to the whims of anyone else, yet that is what we have been doind in recent years in order maintain an air of "political correctness". Our media outlets pulled the cartoons because they thought it would be "offensive" to the muslims. No they were afraid of the reprecussions. If you change your way of life or actions because of fear they have already won.

Those who do not respect her solely because she is a woman probably don't support or respect us anyway, regardless of who our President is. There have been strong women in leadership positions in the past, and there will be more in the future. Margaret Thatcher is one that comes to mind.
Your not the only one who disagrees with me of course my wife does

Points you made here and other post well made, we should not let someone else tell us who to vote for, but like a post made we are at war (agree or disagree we are) with people who hate us and look at females should have no rights. They will take that as we are week, and they will remember the name Clinton and know he did nothing or very little to stop anything they did.
You point about Thatcher is a good one, but that was a long time ago in a diffrent world, and less problems with these same groups
