Not sure what to think of this

Only in North Carolina would I have thought this possible. I was struggling on my home from Durham to Raleigh this afternoon in this snowy icy mess. I was actually passed by a JCB backhoe going eastbound on I-40. Not sure where he was heading but he passed traffic as he was running in the untraveled shoulder and I eventually caught up to him about 4 miles down the highway. I never did see him exit the intestate.
What a drive home, people were locking up cars and leaving in the middle of I-40. The state police were closing ramps due to accidents and cars spun off the ramps. When I finally made it to I-440 the ramp was closed and detoured up Wade ave. will got into the city streets and local PD would block off intersections and offer no direction, would not even get out of the cars. Glad to be home 27 mile trip took me 3.5 hours and a 1/4 tank of gas BUT the HHR pulled great. I was real impressed!

Glad you made it home safely, we got to see how bad Raleigh got it today in between stories on the messes that clogged up I-85, I-485, I-77 and every other road here in the Piedmont.

CMPD responded to 1,366 accidents in Charlotte today, 177 involved injuries, but thankfully no fatalities.

More snow, sleet, and freezing rain for tomorrow. Yee Haw!

I just got 12 inches off my driveway, waiting for the first plow to mess the entrance up. My snow blower was nice to me, it didn't break until I was done this time.

This time a wheel bolt. Metric fine thread machine, none in the garage only coarse. At least I didn't drop my keys in a drift this time out.

I have been lucky never did a shear pin. My neighbor tried to run his blower over his flagstone walkway an busted all of his pins a few years ago.

Murphy's Law #19. If you need a fine thread fastener, you will only find one after you purchase another one, then you will find the fine thread fastener you couldn't find in the first place.

I had to give our maintenance man a short course in "Snowblower 101" today, like "don't unclog the chute with the engine running", and "unless you want to be replacing glass, aim the chute away from the first floor windows".

I saw an idiot this morning cruising at 75 MPH on I95 wit 15 inches of snow covering his SUV, but he cleared his windshield. Still had 15 inches on the hood, not to mention on top.
