I wonder if this will only work with 2011 vehicles or will it work with some older (but not that old) vehicles with Onstar.

They may have found a way to make OnStar more appealing!

Especially if you can start your car, unlock your doors, and check information on the fly. Maybe even be able to locate your car or track it.

I just hope if this app does see the light of day I can use it on my 2008 HHR SS. I kept the safe and sound plan when my free year ran out as to me that is worth it. I could care less about the phone features, turn by turn directions, or some of the other advanced features.

This will only work on OnStar vehicles equipped with verison 9.0. 2010 and older have version 8.3 or less. So it won't work. I'm not sure it will work on the 2011 HHR since I don't know what version of OnStar they have.

Thanks. I think I could get some use out of this app. I am a techno geek anyway being a IT Guy and I try to take the best care of my cars and other possessions so having this would be helpful even if I only use it to check for issues and maybe start my car once in a while when it is cold outside and my remote won't work so well from my basement office.

Pretty soon we'll be able to drive it from our phone like James Bond does in Tomorrow Never Dies....
