Paul McCartney driving entire Route 66 this week

Celebrity spotting in St. Louis this last weekend.

Former Beatle, Paul McCartney, decided to fly over to the United States this week for a casual personal drive down Route 66 with his new girlfriend, Nancy Shevell. He is celebrating his 66th birthday on Route 66.

No security or bodyguards... He's just driving the entire Route 66 from Chicago, Illinois to Santa Monica, California in an old green 1989 Ford Bronco with New York plates.

After spending the entire weekend here in St. Louis they are back on the road heading west. When asked if he was going to the St. Louis Cardinals baseball game, he said not on this trip, but GO CARDS!

They are hitting all the historic Route 66 historic landmarks along the way for photo ops. They've even been stopping along the way to take pictures with fans.

If your travelling the old Route 66 this week or near the old Mother Road, keep an eye out for Paul cruisin' down the highway from east to west dressed casual in t-shirt and jeans.

Very cool! You would think he could come up with something a bit better than a 1989 Ford Bronco though.

Yeah... like a HHR...

If he was here a week earlier, maybe he would have stopped off along Route 66 in Branson for the HHRitage Nationals...

Just think, if he were still with Heather Mills, they could stop off at " IHOP" to get breakfast!
