Proud papa moment

My 8 year old son had his first little league baseball game last night. He was 2 for 2 with a single, double and 2 runs scored. His team won 2 to 1. He has been a huge fan of baseball since he knew what a baseball is. He loves to watch baseball, both on TV and attending games, and collects baseball cards. Sort of a student of the game. We play in our backyard just about every night, but this was his first time playing an organized game. I was just hoping he wouldn't strike out . He also made a good defensive play at 3rd base. More than anything, I am proud because he takes it so serious, and wants to learn and get better. Just thought I would share my joy!

You make me know there is hope for the human race. The Dads of my day - well, they often didn't know how to get in there and have fun with their kids and they wouldn't show their pride as readily. so cool...

I have another proud papa moment I would like to share. My son hit his first home run tonight! He was 3 for 3 with a single, double and homer. For the season he has only been retired once, which puts his batting average at .909 . He leads his team in average and runs scored. His team is now 4-2. Tomorrow they have a double header, so we will be spending the day out in the heat, but it sure is fun .

I'd like to see the son of a lobster hit a homer!! (Oooooh, that's your car, right?) Sounds like he's a happy kid right now, but probably only the 2nd proudest person in YOUR household.

SUNBLOCK!!
