PT Cruiser Replacement spy shots

The spy shots look like a station wagon. If you ask me naming this car PT Cruiser would be a big mistake.

Looks like the Dodge Caliper to me. What's the difference? That is the problem when you update a retro. It can loose all the reasons it was appealing.

The difference is the caliber is even uglier

It doesn't even look like they're trying for it to look retro. It just looks like a caliber/nitro love child. Proof that when you breed ugly with ugly, more ugly is often the result.

IF this is the PT replacement, its great news for Chevrolet. Current PT owners who may want to trade out of their older PT's into a new one will find nothing at their Chrysler dealer and will end up on a Chevy dealer lot checking out the HHR.

As one who never planned on buying either, I buy Amarican brand cars but these are not what I have bought in the past. I typically go for luxury or performance. I've had many different knids of vehicles from and including 05 Mustang GT, 07 Mustang GT500, Caddy XLR, 2005 300c, 2006 300C etc. What impressed me the most with the HHR is the retro looks and once I looked below the skin the luxury and typically luxury features found only in top end cars. Steering radio controls, leather, nice radio and the lack of "Ponitac typical" fisher price dash plastic. The more I see of the HHR the more I like mine.

Regardless of how a lot of people here feel about the PT Cruiser, it was and still is a very nice car that certainly stands out from all the cookie cutter vehicles out on the road today. Were it not for the PT, our much beloved HHR may never have been built.

If they call this ugly looking just-like-every-other-crossover/quasi-SUV a PT Cruiser, it would be an absolute shame and an insult to a ground breaking retro style car.

That's not the PT people. That's the Dodge Crew. The PT will be a reskinned version of that like we're a reskinned Cobalt. I'm sure the next gen PT will look way different with more retro cues. It's pointless to try and figure out what the PT will look like now based off another vehicle that rides on the same platform.
