Saturn Astra engine swap

I've been thinking about the possibility of switching the engine out of a HHR SS or Cobalt SS into the Saturn Astra. I hear the guys from top gear talk about the Astra all the time. I was thinking since the Saturn is our imported version, and i like the body stlying of it since its only a 3 door hatch where as the HHR is a 5 door.

I wonder how intense of a process it would be swapping the motor into the Astra? What parts i need to buy, make, custom order and what things would still work. Any ideas? Or thoughts about this potential build?

because I want something different. Ive had my HH SS for a few years now and just wont something with that mighty mouse engine but a different suit i suppose. Also i like the Astra's 3 door look. Not a lot of them made. About the same number of them as SS or maybe less. and if i put the 2.0 lnf from a SS hhr or cobalt it would be one of kind and bad ass lol

I know what you mean, astra xr looks good.
Engine swaps are a lot harder these days though. You basically have to change entire powertrain, all computers, main wiring harness and everything attatched to it, and somehow make it all fit and bolt together. Possible, but a long term project, even for someone experienced. I know someone putting a saturn ion redline powertrain in a fiero, on year 2 of that project

Leave the HHR SS, AS IS.

Get yourself a LS or LT to do something like this.

oh my Mini Hearse is staying as is lol i was gonna get a donor engine out of a SS that had gone on to browner pastors. I mean i can go with the sky red line, solstice gxp, the cobalt SS TC and the HHR. Any other cars with this engine?

I was looking for a car for my woman, I had a test drive of an Opel Astra.
I did not like this car.
Very heavy, it is heavier HHR. But internal space less than HHR.
Astra has a hideous review back. Opel Astra parts are much more expensive (this is a European car). Metal of body - thin.

It is my impression, "is not really what want a typical American." Install CC-heart in the body ordinary car? The work should not
But of course, the final decision is yours.
