We would love to see 10% unemployment as our county has experienced almost 18% for quite awhile now.

Obama is just about done..and you better thank the good Lord he is! You think it's hard out there now? Let him get a health care bill passed...you ain"t seen nothin yet!

The US is moving toward European style socialism and 10% unemployment is the norm...

Obama cannot count on his own party to support the proposed legislation. If passed in any of the proposed forums a whole lot of politicians will be replaced come November and they know it!

They had better start finding ways to CUT government spending and if they raise taxes [Spelled the Bush Tax Cut expiring] you will see a much longer recession and 10% unemployment will be the norm....now how many extensions do you want to give?

Well let's see....what happened with Democracy? Where are we now? Oh that's right... Democracy failed us. Besides, we haven't had real democracy since the 1930's, or really ever before that. Read a history book for once. Just look at what we are in, and have been in... It's not a true democracy. Can you run for office and have a chance at being elected? Not unless you're loaded or know people. It's all about who has the most money, or power. We've been a socialist country for years...hence SOCIAL security. Now we're becoming a police state since the Patriot Act....

Oh, and I agree with Dayton. 10% would be great.

The US is not a Democracy and purposely so. Pure Democracy is mob rule. The founders knew this and designed a Representative Republic. They LIMITED government in it's power over the people......

So, I guess because the camel got it"s nose under the tent and now the whole camel is almost in you are ready to give up?

Maybe socialism isn't a bad idea.

Move to Europe....you'll be back!

Besides, Michigan has dug it's own grave...keep voting Democrat and you'll have no fear that Socialism will become your way of life....as you can see I live in a Socialist state as well.....Obama wants Marxism....and it's much worse!

Maybe you should move to Europe. Ever done that? And what world are you in? Just because Democrats have a majority doesn't mean that they go all about doing anything they want....

As for the area that I live in, Democrats did not do this, nor did Republicans. Sorry, you can't blame everything on politicians. Things aren't that simple.

The more money and power you give government the more it will control you....and yes, government drove the automakers out of Michigan and Democrats lead the way....it's not simple...maybe that is why you don't understand...

Excuse me? I think you're the one that doesn't understand.

Perhaps unions upped the cost of manufacturing, which led the automakers to leave for cheaper labor.

Money doesn't give the government control, fear does. Like you said, it's not that simple...maybe that is why you don't understand.

Do you just troll the forums with nothing better to do than inject anti-Obama comments?

I don't consider that an 'attack' btw.

The unions have been deep into politics since the '60s and fear is EXACTLY how the Democrats got into power in Michigan. Unions WANT socialism. There is a reason why union membership is at an all time low....socialism does not work!

Michigan jobs did not leave because of cheap labor, the went because of unreasonably high pay for mundane jobs and union work rules that cause the price of automobiles to be uncompetitive on the world market.

The reason I'm so anti-Obama is simple. My chosen hobby is the automobile. EVERY policy advanced by the Democrats is anti-automobile! The stated goal is to make driving so expensive YOU and I cannot afford to drive!
