Seriously though

I need some help.My pops attempted to drive his 88 Chevy 2500 from Tally to Naples and it dies on the way..He found out the ign/ecm fuse is blowing and continues to do so after he replaces it..Sometimes after 5 mins and sometimes longer..any help? Thanks!

Ever tried a bigger fuse??? Maybe get him to where he's going. Could be a bad ground somewhere too.

Sounds like a bare wire touching metal and shorting out. A good electical man can trace it down fast, if that is what it is!

Wow, another failed trip to Naples where the car ends up dieing. Ahh, memories.

Seriously though, it does sound like a short like Holmes said when it touches bare metal. Had expirence with that, real pain if you ask me.

Never, under any circumstanses, do you increase the fuse size, on anything, auto or home. The wiring is based on the fuse (or vice versa). The fuse is a safety wall between a short and a fire.
