Show us your guns!
I am curious about how it is purchasing ammunition around the country. I went to my local sporting goods store this weekend and tried to buy a box of 40 cal bullets. They laughed at me. They stated that since November (election day?) they sell out of all 40 cal and 9 mm within 2 hours of opening. They get their shipment in every Tuesday and Thursday. The guy also stated they are selling 15,000 to 20,000 rounds on those days.
WTF!!!!!
So I called around to 4 other stores and got the same story. Just from 5 stores that could be up to 200,000 rounds of ammo sold per WEEK.
Is it just Texas or is this nationwide. The only ammo they had was shotgun shells. No pistol (not even 22 cal) or rifle ammo to be had. When I told the guys at work they were surprised that I didn't know this. I guess I have been in a fog.

I was looking through old photos and found one of my bedroom when I was 12 years old. I had quite a few long guns in a gun cabinet, and ammo for all of them in the bottom drawer. A couple of 22's, pellet gun, 20 guage/?rifle over/under, 410 bolt action, and a 351 caliber semi-auto, and a 12 ga pump (Ithaca). We had proper gun handling instruction at an early age, and nobody thought it was odd that a 12 year old had a fully stocked gun cabinet. Can you imagine that in this day and age, people would think you were crazy, yet it would not have occured to me as a kid to use firearms in an unsafe manner, any more than I would burn a house down or steal my parents car to plow through a crowd. Odd how our perceptions change over the years. Guess the stupid gang bangers are to blame (and maybe violent video games?).
"Sponsored by Assembly Member Kevin De Leon (D-45), AB962 would make it a crime to privately transfer more than 50 rounds of ammunition per month, even between family and friends, unless you are registered as a “handgun ammunition vendor” in the Department of Justice’s database. Ammunition retailers would have to be licensed and store ammunition in such a manner that it would be inaccessible to purchasers. The bill would also require purchasers submit to fingerprinting, which would be submitted to the Department of Justice. Lastly, mail order ammunition sales would be prohibited"
This is to prevent gangbangers and ex felons from obtaining handgun ammunition & give the lawbiding purchaser an experience on what it feels like to be processed in County Jail (Fingerprinting for purchases) WTF? What about existing laws?
This could drive the up the cost and effect current supply for the Sport Shooter. Sorry that's it I'm done preaching off topic
