I guess it determines what part of the country you are from.

I was raised in the midwest and it is called pop, then I moved to LA and it was soda, so I still call it soda.

Actually I have heard it called soda pop.

LMAO! I was trying to explain to my wife not to long ago about how in Florida we used to all sodas a coke. A typical conversation would go something like this: Hey you want a coke? Sure. What kind you want? Sprite! Lol! She is a Californian and just couldnt grasp this southern concept
