Smile South florida int'l auto show pics....56K warning

Got the pics uploaded and hosted.......

2007 SFIAS

Kind of a dissapointment from Chevy, no concepts or early viewing of preproduction models. How ever some of the others have some quite interesting looking concepts.

Wish they would have had the barn doors open for the display! Still trying to wrestle my barn door hinges into the tight confines of the HHR!

Nice pics, jx3....

Is the Florida "International" auto show HOSTED or OWNED by the car dealers association?

The one here, in AZ, is owned and operated by the Valley Auto Dealers Association (VADA). As such, they are limited as to what is displayed. The manufacturers have a traveling crew that attend the shows (if you remember, Henry posted a PS of 2 young ladies with his car. The one was my niece, who does travel with these shows....along with her hubby, now). But, they split the displays...not ever display makes ever show). Generally, the best is saved for the most impact...Detroit, LA, Chicago, etc.

Not really sure who owns/hosts the show. Never really gave that much thought. But here's what I got of the web site......

The South Florida Auto-Truck Dealers Association, which comprises more than 220 dealerships in Miami-Dade, Broward, Palm Beach and Monroe counties, has been the official sponsor of the South Florida International Auto Show since 1971.

Being that last year this is the show that debuted the HHR panel as well as the concept Camaro (yes they were in media print first), I at least expected to see the HHR SS here as there have been several produced already. The Camaro, I was hopeful, but that was about all, as they aren't due to go into production till 4th quarter of 08.

BTW......this show is among the top 5 shows for manufactures in the country!

Because the event is among America’s top five, manufacturers use the most supreme exhibits to show off their newest models. Visitors also will find the latest crossovers, SUVs, pickups, concepts or prototypes and accessories.
