Price was an issue for GM. Which explains why there was less of a demand and more of an supply. I think the SSR would of sold better around 30K not 40K

Price and when it came out it had no balls. Chevy corrected that but it was doomed from the start. It was impractical as a muscle car because it just isn't. It was impractical as a truck because it lacked the space and hauling abilities of real trucks. It was always overpriced. Like I said it was under powered at first. Does anyone remember the last convertible truck falure? The Dodge Dakota Sport convertible.

I'm not trying to piss people off who like the SSR because they are kind of cool but IMO it was a bad idea from the start.

i dont think they are a failure, just not a good vehicle to have around w Chevy having financial problems right now.

there are alot on the road and they still sell especially in Texas. there are 4 or 5 within a 1 mile radius of me that i have seen in neighborhoods.

drive one and you will love them. there is a red one w flames i see at shows that is incredible. there are flames in the hood as well and these look very real
i love this SSR

the new 2 tone SSR's look great too

Any car not selling is a falure and should be killed. Why keep making it if there is no demand? So they can loose money and keep the few niche fans that are buying the car happy? Maybe Chevy would have less finacial trouble right now if they wouldn't have green lighted the SSR. I'm also kind of happy about GMs decision to kill the GTO. They sound nice and have balls but they are so bland looking. I was stoked that they were bringing the GTO back but then when I saw it my first though was,"Oh wow another bland Pontiac." I think GM is wising up on what they need to do to maintain their position as the largest car manufacturer in the world. Now if the can just keep on making wise decisions.

Well, since the SSR is going to be discontinued does that mean we will see an HHR as the new Pace Car for NASCAR? hmmm....Now wouldn't that be cool?

Here in NY I have only seen one (1) SSR on the road. Not counting the one in the showroom. Although I find it unique and interesting-who is the intended market? People that want a fast 2 seater can get the Vette for the same money. And it handles better and is faster. People that want a truck can get one of the diesel thingies with turbo or super that are fast, powerful, and can work like a truck. I am surprised that the SSR meet in CA got so many, considering Chevy said they were having trouble selling it.

Now, what about different body styles for the HHR-perhaps a pickup and a 2 door Nomad.

I would like to see a full pictue of the red SSR with the yellow flames (from first page of this thread). Although that one is paint, it is similar to what I have on my HHR.
