Thanksgiving 2008: "Thank you Lord..."
Thanksgiving 2008: "Thank you Lord..."
Sometimes in my family Thanksgiving gatherings we go around the table for our prayer with everybody telling the Lord what they are thankful for this year. Since I'm thankful for my new car and my new friends here, I thought I'd start such a thread. Canadians, even though you have a different date, please chime in. And lurkers who never post, think of something in your heart. It'll get to the right address.
I'll start...
Dear Lord,
This year I am thankful for my family and everyone's good health. I'm thankful for a good job where I can serve you, my country and my family. And I am really thankful for the super cool car you gave me to get to that job in!

I am thankful that I have a job and I am still providing jobs for 85 parts/service/bodyshop employees and their families. I am thankful for my family, my country and my deceased relatives who made my life as it is today, possible. I am thankful I was born in the USA and was given the opportunities that no other country could offer me (no offense to canada).
It's been a very hard year. I don't really have much to be thankful for, but I do have one big one.
I am thankful that God has provided something, somehow just as we need it. There have been no extras, but just enough.

Thankful, Me and my fiancee still have Jobs. Thankful she is finally doing what she kinda went to school for. Thankful we were finally able to live together after 6yrs of dating. Thankful we are finally getting married next Sept. Thankful we have each other, all in all i can't complain about this year. My problems are nothing compared to what alot other's are going through, although u do have to remind yourself at times.
I'm thankful I did NOT lose my dad this year. Two hospital stays had us very worried.
I'm also thankful my boys are in their senior year of college. This time next year, they will be on their way to successful careers (I hope).
2009 looks very good for me. I will finally get some additional help at work and a very good promotion is possible. So, I'm thankful God is rewarding me for 6 months of working overtime.

I am thankful for my family, friends, Church and that I am cancer free for 12 months after prostate cancer surgery. I'm thankful for having a warm home, a decent job and the living in a country where I can still state that I'm thankful for a God that loves me. And yes, thankful for my new HHR.
I am THANKFUL that I live in a country where I can turn on a faucet and get running water, I can go to a store and get just about anything I need, there are doctors and hospitals close by, but most of all I am thankful for my late grandfather who gave his life during WWII, my late father who also served in WWII and my son who is serving in IRAQ; I am most thankful for all those who have served and are serving our nation so I can sit here and write this post.
