Don't worry. Those kids will sleep through Kansas. I know I wanted to and I was driving! I was following my brother so at least I has something to concentrate on.

You will love the Rockies. Nothing like what you'll in MO. Have a great trip and tell us all about it when you get back!

Looking forward to getting together with Doug and the family. Will have Smoke read to show and get some great photos of the two cars together.

Have fun and drive safe Doug...we'll see you at the hotel early Tuesday evening.

I hope you have a great trip.I can't wait to get back out that way myself. This thread brings back mostly good memories of my first trip in 1971 from NJ to SoCal.I was visiting a friend from NJ who had moved to L.A. and had told me about the paradise he had found.I drove almost all the way on I-70.That interstate actually wasn't finished then through Utah.Anyhow, the first time I got to Denver and saw the Rockies it was great.Spent the night in a rest area near Silver Plume.Woke up shivering with about 6 inches of snow covering the car. What a beautiful morning in the mountains.Of course the car then broke down in Mack and it was a bus from there to SoCal because there was nobody around who had parts for a broken down Fiat. The second time out to L.A. was about 6 months later after I had decided to move there.I was then driving a hopped up Mustang pulling a trailer and getting around 10 mpg. Two years later I hitch-hiked back to NJ with nothing but a back-pack.But that is a long story for another post.
