Hi All, YES there is a RED SQUIRREL STEW! My Father was a Master International Italian Chef from TRIESTE and I also am a Chef (but not of his Calibur)!! While working in the catskills when i was a young boy (11-22) under my Father,Natale`s supervision at the Villaggio Itaila Country Resort in Haines Falls,NY a guest shot a RED SQUIRREL and brought it to the kitchen and asked my Father if he coulded make a meal from the Red Squirrel! My Father made a Wonderful Robust White Stew, he made me TASTE and SAVOUR the squirrel stew! It tasted like Chicken....sooo yes you can EAT SQUIRRELS!.....Chef aven11

lol, I have seen the guy on Travel Channel eat some before...

 

I think it all depends on how hungry you are.People around these parts,myself included,have eaten things like rattlesnake,possum,gator tail,turtle,catfish,crawfish,and deer.I drew the line on the possum however.

I have eaten squirrel before its really not that bad....its just kinda chewy and it has a sweet taste!!!!

 

I've noticed the squirrels here in NJ acting strange. First of all, they're all over the place. I had one move into my attic, trapped & disposed of it, then caught 2 more in the attic, now it's all sealed off. I found 3 dead squirrels in my garbage can, trying to hop around them, slipped in and drown in the water.
Yesterday, I saw about 8 of them on 1 tree in my neighbors yard. The whole tree looked like it was crawling. I think these toxic suirrels are traveling in packs, like rats. After all, they pretty much are rats with cute fuzzy tails.
