Well, if they don't drastically improve, they won't be around for very long.

Top finish for Toyota at Daytona.........Dale Jarrett in 22nd, followed by Michael Waltrip in 30th. Toyota also finished in 34th and 40th!

The way I look at it, it's going to take time for them to show what they can do. They have only been raced in the Shootout, Duals and the 500. If memory serves me right, it took a while before the Dodges did well when they first introduced them to NASCAR.

These restrictor plate races have taken the real competition out of the Super Speedways. They`re more like 200mph parking lots, move, you lose.
Any car brand could`ve won Sunday, just had to be at the right spot at the right time.
The crashes are pretty predictable, after x-amount of laps, tires go away, wobbly cars = crash.

It also took the Toyotas a couple of seasons to get to the front in the truck series. The fact that MWR is a start up team and they got all three of their Toyotas into the 500 is great, I think they will start winning races soon. The reintroduced Dodges still aren't doing half as well as Chevy and Ford. I think the Toyotas will get the bugs ironed out and do just fine. There are a lot of people in this country who drive Toyotas and bringing them into NASCAR brings more fans along with it. I think it is unrealistic to expect any new design to be up front in it's first race, a Toyota did finish second in the Busch race and that's pretty incredible. I have never owned one and probably won't but I think we need to be fair, NASCAR may have started out with moonshine running southern boys but it has evolved as all things must if they are going to survive.

It will take awhile, but they will be winners in a couple of seasons. But not as good as the bowtie boys.

Wasn't that an Oldsmobile? That movie was released the model year of my car.
