On a similar thought I don`t know anybody over there anymore and your (we) are not allowed to just randomly send pkgs to service persons the way we used to. Maybe the folks on this site could chime in on who`s serving and we could send stuff to them to have an distribute amongst their group. I always liked getting my car magazines when I was in and now I have stacks that I`m sure somebody would like to have to pass some time. We might not agree on this politicaly but I`m sure none of us have any problem in getting something to those kids over there. Just a thought.

It appears that the rest of the civilized world can see that this was a failure, and that the longer we/they stay, the deeper it gets.
If we went there because of 9-11, importing democracy wasn`t a goal.
Heck, we don`t even have a democracy here.
If we went there to get Saddam out, He`s out.
Saying that "since there`s been no attacks since 9-11 proves us right", is like saying , "all is right in the world since Noah`s Ark". A giant leap.

I'm not going to get involved in a flame war here, as I have a very different opinion than most in this thread. I will say to SindyDix your son and others here who have served are the real heroes in this becouse of thier selfless devotion to serve our country. They are truly a special group of people that deserve nothing but repect and admiration. Thank you to all who have served.

The best advise I can give you is to contact the USO for guidance. Sometimes airmen are thrilled to get things we take for granted like a good candy bar, soft tissues, playing cards, paperback books, etc. They really like to get prepaid phone cards which allow them to make call home on a commercial line. Be sure and include a note thanking them for their service to our country!

Check with your local American Red Cross or Any Soldier.com. Both of these organizations can help you send gifts from "home".

Although my son is there and I wish he was here,I think it's better to eradicate vermin at the source rather than wait until it shows up here.

As I said before, show the proof that Iraq had anything to do with 9-11.
Saying that saddam stalled isn`t evidence, that speculation.
The people involved in the hi-jackings were from Saudi Arabia, that`s the source.
Any claims other than that is just trying to justify an unprovocked attack, claiming that the people wanted democracy after the fact, is an attempt to make yourself feel better.
Bring our kids back home. Let the Iraqis fight for their own freedom, if they really want it.
