Sorry about that bent grille and hood,?the bright chrome grille was an option on the 1LT and standard on the 2LT, putting aside the packages available on different years , like the Spring Edition for instance, hope the insurance isn't hard on you for the repairs.

I like that Grille. does it seem or feel cheap? When I saw the chrome pictures of that on ebay it just seemed like the mesh part would be flimsy. I would like to get black headlights for mine as well. I am debating on making sure I get the chrome standard grille, or ask the adjuster if I could get one like yours since they are cheaper. I am not sure if the black would go with my silverstone metallic though. It may be too big of a contrast.

Its ok, wasn't your fault. I am frustrated about the whole situation but things do happen. Oh ok and I hope not either. I know Some companies will make it as simple as if you have a specific one in mind, they will write out a check and have you buy it if it is the price of a standard one. I liked Casa Del Gatos' grill but The black may be too big of a contrast for my car being silver.

I see a lot of guys changing/modifying/painting grills... The first time I saw an HHR with that big chrome grill I knew I had to have one. Personal preference I guess... but I say go chrome.

They have a shiny "chrome" version too.

I have an updated question for everyone:

After dropping my HHR off this morning to the body shop, I asked them about the grille. I told them I specifically want the same grille that is on there, not the satin finish one. They asked if thats the one that it came with and since I installed it, I said no. They said it all depends on price. I checked the estimate a little bit ago and it says "Grille LS w/out deluxe trim." Does anyone know if that the Satin finish one?

Your damaged grille is the bright chrome 2LT version, no problem let them fix it and we'll figure out the chrome later! Then you'll have a summer and a winter grille !
