Visit From A Black Bear At Work

Last week we had a visitor from the mountains at Ball Corporation where I work. I think he was more scared of us, that we were of him. He started out at the back of the building, went across the area where we park our department vehicles, then sauntered through the front yard. He then decided the fields across the street looked much more inviting and off he went. Had animal control here looking for him and they finally found him at the Broomfield Event Center sleeping in a tree a couple days later.

And lookie here...what do we see behind the bear? Why it's a Sunburst Orange Metallic HHR named "Smoke".

Cool! Thanks for sharing your large predator encounter.

Nice shots
Was the bear a youngster or a bit older? ?
It was a good time to be inside ,huh?

He was just a cub...but definitely something you don't see in town much. I gathered these pics from people who saw him pretty up close and personal.

He did look young, but hose who were there could tell better.

You needed to get the cub to pose near Smoke while you snapped a few

Good idea collecting the photos from co workers. The pics will make a nice collage in the break room

Believe me...there are photos hanging up all over the place at Ball. Even have some hanging up in our on-site cafeteria. It's been quite the talk around the building since it happened. I even heard that the picture I posted that shows my HHR in it was posted in one of the small area newspapers. If I can find a link, I'll be sure to share it.

Don't think I'd want to get much closer to the bear than is shown in the pictures. Although, since I work in the Facilities and Services Department, we hopped in the truck and headed to the fields with Animal Control to see if we could spot him. Probably would have had a cow had he popped up in front of us when we were looking out there.
