Well look what followed me home......

I'm a long time member of F.O.G., Flathead Owners Group..
Course my 45" Servi-car is not exactly stock 'internally"...But I saved my # matching cases, that match the frame.. Those are carefully tucked away..
And recently snagged an additional set of 45 cases & etc, thinking of building a board-track racer / bobber mix...

Servi's are getting more rare. This example displays tank emblems that are for 1963-1965 Servi. But since I see no kick start lever, not a 1963.(if badging is correct).. Would say either a 1964 or a '65 Servi ......(If I could see the E. Start I could better pinpoint the year.
Since 1964-65 had a problematic E. Start. & was upgraded for the 1966 & later model years. Evinrude was involved with the new & improved E.Start..
FYI: 1964 Servi-Car was the 1st Harley to have Electric Start & 12 Volts ..
Contrary to popular belief that the 1965 Panhead was the 1st..(it was not)..
Servi-Cars have a long rich History w/ Police, Military, Commercial, & Service Station use, as well as private sector....
Starting in 1932 non-stop thru 1973 officially, & till 1975 un-officially. The 2 un-official production years were done with left over parts to avoid a major law-suit from a Police Contract that had pre-placed orders for them..
Also those bullet lights on the 'box' are someones' personal choice.. They are certainly not stock.

The ad listed it as a '64 model year unit so as you said, the emblems are correct, but there was nothing more specified in the ad.
You've probably seen this website dedicated to the 1932-1936 Servi-Cars, or maybe you haven't, anyway....here's a link for ya.

What are they asking for it ?? It looks like it's a rider, no show pony..
1964 is collectable for the reasons I previously mentioned, 1st year for any Harley to have Electric Start & 12 volts.
Problem was, they still used the same cap screws for kick start lids, to hold the E. Starter top on, any kick back or back fire starting it & it tore the screws out of the trans & popped the lid. Parts for this 1964-65 E.Start are rare as hen's teeth & $$$$
Yes, this is my friends Stevens' site.. Used to have a forum (which I was a member), but not enough interest... So he joined our site.
Thanks 843..

No asking price on that Servi-Car sleeper, and its in Hawaii, so I'd imagine that the shipping here to the Southland would be astounding. It was just the first Servi-Car I'd seen listed for a good while, they just don't come up that often.

Was just curious what they felt it's value was..
Here's a friends 1954 50th Anniversary Police Unit.. It was AMCA judged and scored 99%.
He sold it for $30K on eBay. Very rare unit, & every nut & bolt is oem or nos.

There was an ex-LAPD Servi-Car on ebay back in January that went for $14,000 and it was very rough, I think it was a '59 or '60. I know you'd strangle me, but I could see a Servi-Car tagging along behind the Carryall, especially done up as the unit that the dealership had when my truck was new.

a 1959 or '60 X-PD Servi has no real historical significance, just another year..
The non-Police units could be ordered with the tow bar that quickly attached to a vehicles rear bumper & were often towed.. Service stations would send a mechanic out to your broken auto & if he could make even temp repairs there, he would hook the servi on back & drive the auto to the garage for further servicing..
I think a Servi behind your Carryall would be very Cool.. Perhaps a 1937 Servi..
I have avoided the 1932 to '36 Servi's as they ran a total loss oil system.. (messy). 1936 was first to implement an oil recirculating system...
My first H-D was a 1947 Servi chopper. lol..I was 14, & it did not run & was a rat.. Probably why I was permitted to buy it.
