I sure wish they had a little "common sense"... I am sure that the govt will be much more efficient running health care then the private sector.....NOT!

Bacaus

Bacaus is bought and paid for by the insurance companys, he recieved over one million bucks from them. Of course he doesn't want a single payer plan, there goes his bribe. The article states that President Obama opposes the idea of forcing the people to pay. I'll take a single payer plan like medicare any day over a private insurance company that refuses me care once I get sick. I get tired of the scare tatics used by politicans they use to divide and screw the American people.

I don't get it. You're too broke to buy insurance so you pay a fine to the government. This makes sense to someone I'm sure.

The members of congress are fools..A tax on insurance companies who will pass that cost on to the consumers. A fine for those who don't have (or cannot afford) health cost insurance. (How about a fine for those who don't have car insurance) That works out real well now. High deductable the first $5000 you pay..after my health insurance cost and deductable costs are already more than $5000

Similarly, before automobile liability insurance was mandated, many people chose to drive without insurance... and when they ran into someone like me, who DID buy insurance, they/I got hosed.

See... most people are utterly selfish. They aren't willing to contribute to the common good, and then they ***** about it when there's legislation that forces them to contribute. They are also (very often) the first ones into the handout line when people need help from natural disasters, etc. "We were too selfish to protect our interests with insurance but now you can bail us out anyway." Sadly, this is inevitable, because of that inherent selfishness.

*sigh*

I wonder if the gov't will take food stamps for the payment of imposed fines?

I really hesitate to post this - but as a businessman who has continually provided health insurance for all of my employees for over 35 years, I get totally disgusted by employers who refuse to provide employees with health insurance, yet they own a second home in Florida, a huge boat, belong to the expensive golf courses, etc. While I agree that a "fine" may be extreme, it may be what it takes to make employers get off their selfish asses and do the right thing.

I have nothing against employers making money, but I really believe there should be a sense of sharing the wealth - and frankly, most of us on this site probably fall onto the side of those deserving a fair shake.
