What I drove yesterday...

Thought some might like to see what I drove yesterday:

OK, image insert doesn't seem to be working for me; here is the direct link:

For the past seven years or so I have driven a Float in the Pasadena Rose Parade! This entry will be for the city of Roseville California.

She drove like a dream; but still prefer my HHR!

Come across on my end OK. That is a little bigger than an HHR. What's your gas mileage in that thing

There is a pic of the float if you follow his link...

Pretty cool... what vehicle is it under the float?

Yeah, mileage stinks! Probably burns about 10 gallons of gas for the parade which is 5 1/2 miles! Take about 2 1/2 hours to drive it.

No vehicle. Custom built chassis. Most are powered by a 350; some by 454. Built turbo 400's, and low gearing in the rear end.

HHR is more comfortable. Here is where I sit in the float:

I actually drive blind. Have an observer up front and we communicate via headphones. He tells me where to go and when to stop!

A beach chair would work nice.

Gotta love that shift indicator.

Jeff,

Yup, the ergonomics are outstanding!

It even has air conditioning. It consists of a little squirel-cage fan with a hose to the outside air. When you turn it on you get pelted by all kinds of seeds from the decorations!

That is so cool Mark. I have always wanted to help on a float let me know where I can sign up. Maybe we can have an HHR volunteer day. Keep me posted.

Thanks

Kris

A milk crate would be better!
