What would you do?
What would you do?
HI all, I have a question of ask you, this is off topic of the HHR, I just would like to know what you think and what would you do..
Question: You see a little child (about the age of 5) crying non stop, parents are with him or her, you find out that the child is upset because of something that made him or her sad, (example: lost teddy bear) Would you...
A)Try to help comfort the child?
B)Give the child a lollipop to make him or her feel better?
C) DO nothing, and just let his or her parents handle it?
Me personally, not being able to see a little child cry in sadness, would do A and if possible do B too, and do silly faces at him or her to try to make them laugh.
Just something to think about. (I have a big heart when it comes to orphans. whenever I see an orphan cry, my heart aches, and I try to do everything I can to help them, that is what inspired this question)

Sometimes kids cry BECAUSE they feel they are not getting enough attention from their parents, I DID that when I was a child, and when my mother (Dad left me) gave me the attention I craved for, I stopped crying. (My mom worked all day, so I always felt lonely when I was little, and it really affected me)
Good way to be accused of trying to abduct the child.
Now this is just wrong. Screams creepy perverted child molester.
The only smart, safe, and right choice.

The only reason I could see doing A or B is IF you know the child, and the parents know you, and understand your intentions. Otherwise you are just asking for trouble. I understand how you feel, and I agree it's tough to see a child crying, but even good intentions can be misunderstood and turned against you.
Mizz, What you said is so true too, Good intentions may sometimes give some people a diffrent signal, and then what you end up doing is NOT help those in need of comfort, I wish it wasn't that way. I wish we could all trust each other. but, sadly, that is just a fantasy wish. It will likely never happen.
