Maybe the victims aren’t as innocent as the media would like to make them. The only way you would be able to know the truth is if we were there and I’m pretty sure none of us were.
So why take the side of the mob if YOU don't know the details.

I'm not taking the side of the mob. I know how I would react to seeing a child get hit. I just know everyone is going to jump all over the downfall of American society without even knowing half the story.

I just love the fact that incidents like this change the English vernacular on a regular basis. "Spontaneous homicide" - funny stuff!

Being here in Austin and knowing the area and conflicts, not to mention the circumstances in which this crowd was gathering. I can tell you for a fact that alcohol played a major part, and hate crime or not, I'm willing to bet race played a big part in the attack. Anytime you add alcohol and large groups of people not to mention tragedy involving a child, people get emotional. I dought we will ever hear the whole story, but the fact remains that no one deserved to die. I just pray for the safety of everyone involved and hope it doesn't lead to more crime of this nature. My prayers are with both families in their time of need.

OK I just have to make a comment here.

Notice the names? Notice not only that it was an apartment complex but notice the name of the complex? You know there was alcohol involved.

I dont think I have to say anymore than that

The term "spontaneous homicide", is commonly used in international criminal justice systems....occasionally in the American system.

I'm surprised that only one person on this forum mentioned the most important element that preceded this crime (it is)......CHECKING THE WELFARE OF THE INJURED CHILD. That should be the issue of paramount concern....not beating the guy or his friend.

I took it for granted because the child was fine and at a hospital. I'm sure she/he (two conflicting elements of the stories posted) was taken care of during the beating.

I`ve seen posts on this site advocating violence against people who have maybe only touched, dented, removed a part from (a HHR), or even, just cut someone off in traffic.
That`s the society we live in , in general.
Once, a while ago, a bunch of us guys where out riding our bikes, and we came upon a park, a baseball game was being played, so we stopped to watch.
The game stopped, the players came at us with bats, we were trying to back away, with our bikes as a shield, I saw the people leaving a church, figured they would help, break up the crowd... Wrong, they joined in.
We barely got out alive.

One can only assume it was racially motivated, unless the baseballers and their fans, just didn`t like bicyclers watching their game.
