I will simply say , it was racially motivated.
The area , The United States, it`s a 'free to roam' type place, I don`t believe there`s any area in this country I`m not free to enter, and I shouldn`t have to worry about being beat-down because someone else believes otherwise.
That`s one of the "FREEDOMS" we`re supposedly fighting for all over the world.

I agree but sometimes area goes along with racially motivated crap. I pretty much go anywhere I want.........hell I was raised in the hood but there are some places I just don't go. My problem has nothing to do with race so I'm not one of those dudes that avoid the city because of "the scary ethnic types". I avoid areas that are too much of a hot spot of criminal activity or are too shady. Try being Italian/White whatever you want to call me and going to one of your friends houses in an all Black or Hispanic area. It's not the people that live there that suck because I grew up in some rough areas so I can handle myself and I'm not stupid nor do I mind drug offers or anything like that because you can ignore them or turn them down. My problem is the damn police! When they see you in certain areas they automatically assume your up to no good either looking for drugs or hookers. I don't really hang out in the hooker section of town (I work there though ) so that's usually not their assumption. I do have a lot of friends in high drug traffic areas so that's the automatic assumption. I can not tell you the number of times I have been pulled over or stopped on the street and harassed by police for being white in certain sections of town. It totally blows. You get hard ass cops too that even after consent to search myself or vehicle still want to give you a warning about being in that area and don't believe you are actually visiting a friend. I'm sure you've had similar experiences but from a different perspective.

I have, and that`s why when a report says a person has a long record, I know it`s harder to have a short one, in the big city.
I also say , I have more problems here in the good-old U.S.of A to worry about, than something around the world.
People rail about National Security, and we don`t even have at-Homeland Security.

Do we ever stop and put ourselves in the shoes of those police officers, usually not. Ever stop to think of the stories they hear from every rich teen who seems out of place in these areas. Their jobs are hard enough dealing with the people who live in the area, without needing to watch out for outsiders. Not to mention the press explosion when one white kid gets killed in one of these areas. Ever read a headline where two upstanding black youth from harlem get's killed in an upper class neighborhood. More then likely reads somewhere along the lines of two gang members shot over a drug deal gone wrong and the rest of the story isn't news worthy. So even though a lot of cops have bad attitudes, the best way to deal with them is to answer thier questions be respectful and be glad someone still has the nerve and desire to do their job. I'd hate to live anywhere that didn't have their protection.

Oh....I am respectful and like I said most of the time it's not worth the hassle to mess with them so I will willfully give up certain rights just to avoid confrontation. You know....."Go ahead and search me I've got nothing to hide and I'm not lying.". If I have a Puerto Rican or Black friend that I'm going to hang out with I shouldn't have to be hassled by police. Also I'm not an outsider. I grew up in the hood. My mom moved us to the suburbs when I was 13 and it was like the worst 5 years of my life. I couldn't wait until I was 18 and could move back to the city. Suburban parents could say all they want about the city because there are way more F'ed up kids and families in the suburbs. I could not believe the extent that some of those kids would go to just to rebel against their parents and so forth. High school was like one big melodrama. I couldn't believe what some of them would whine and complain about not to mention all the huge life ending "problems" they faced. Now.......I live in the suburbs again. But it was purely based on my children's education. Our city school district is really bad so when we bought our house our one main deciding factor was choosing a good school district. I didn't care about taxes, location, or any of that crap, just making sure my children could get the best education possible. And yes you do hear of black kids getting killed in the suburbs but then it almost always racially motivated as opposed to random violence, criminal violence, or drug violence. I'm sure the police treat black people the same if not worse while in really rich subburbs.....even if they live there.

I'm not sure of the news coverage in other areas of the US over this but here in Austin not much is being said. So like I was saying we probably won't ever know the truth. I also have not read anywhere of Al or Jesses take or outrage over what happened here. They sure pick winning battles to squeal over don't they?
