Question What's your opinion?

Would you consider paying between $70-$400 to have the ability to lock/unlock your vehicle where you should be within 30 feet to operate?
My keyfobs for my 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo are sending good signal strength. I had quotes from two Jeep dealerships, (that's where I got the cost range.) and it could be anything from a loose wire/antenna, to the module. $70+/hour labor to start, + $320 for module + approx. $40 to program keyfobs & module, assuming it is for one fob.
I am not comfortable with taking the door panel off and checking myself because it is electrical & I don't know enough to mess with it & would most likely do more damage than good. If I knew somebody that I could trust to know about it, I would have them check it out for me so I would know if it is a loose connection or not.
What is your opinion, is it worth the cost for what quite possibly may not even be the problem, (although I am sure it lies inbetween there somewhere.)
Like I said, you must be within 30 feet to operate it, & it is just to be able to lock/unlock the vehicle. (I don't 'panic' to use that particular feature.)
What Would You Do?
I appreciate & value your opinions! Thanks.

Nope ... what I would do is spend time and maybe 50 bucks on a chiltons and or aftermarket products and do it myself hell these days UTUbe it ... I fixed my wifes laptop and our PS3 that way ...from $290 repair or replacement to about $75... course thats my answer to everything these days ... In defference to my Scotts ancestry ... Im a cheap bastard ... I decided to remove my own apendix next week , just as a cautionary measure ...
