Where Do You Work?
I've been retired five years from Eastman Kodak, where I was an analytical chemist.

This is what the Kodak manufacturing facility is undergoing as the company is being restructured into the digital arena.

I work in academia. I'm a Counselor for the University of California (13 years-a state employee if you will...). I'm applying for my doctorate this year (taking my qualifying exams on Saturday--gulp!) and hope to start next fall 08.
I love my work and love my students...and LOVE my HHR!

When I responded to this thread a very long time ago, I was unemployed.
I now work for Ball Corporation as a Sr. Maintenance Technician for the Facilities and Services department. I am based out of the Ball Corporation POC building (Packaging Office Center) and am part of the team that is responsible for maintaining 5 of the buildings in Broomfield, Colorado including our Corporate Headquarters.
For those of you who may not know much about them, this is the company that sold the Ball canning jars for years that our mom and grandmothers used for canning. They are still available, however, Ball sold off that portion of the operation a few years back, but they are still sold under the Ball name.
Now, Ball Corporation is a provider of metal and plastic packaging for beverages, foods and household products, and of aerospace and other technologies and services to commercial and governmental customers. Founded in 1880, the company employs more than 15,500 people in more than 90 locations worldwide. If you'd like to learn more about the company, feel free to visit http://www.ball.com and check out all the stuff we do. I was totally amazed at the number of products we use daily that are made or designed by Ball.
If you take a look at some of the aluminum beverage cans in your fridge and look near the UPS code, you will see a small Ball logo on all the cans we manufacture. Drives my boyfriend crazy when we're at the store and I'm checking out all the cans for our logo.

Thanks for the info Deb. I remember watching an episode of "Made in America" with John Ratzenberger when they highlighted Ball Corp. I love that show!
Maintaining an processing plant is a difficult job. I keep trying to persuade my son to look towards the manufacturing industry for employment when he graduates with a mechanical engineering degree. He still wants to design and build roller coasters. What's a mother to do!

I work for Amana Refridgeration in Amana, Iowa. Been there 19 years in March.
Since I've been there, Amana has been owned by Ratheon, Goodman Holding, Maytag and now, Whirlpool. If you own a bottom mount refridgerator (and it's not an LG) - it was prbably built at Amana.
I'm a Material Handler and I drive a stand up forktruck all day!
