Alleviate (Your confusion hopefully, cars like my '67 SS 427 are the only official factory SS 427's offered by Chevrolet in that year...RPO Z24. It is based on the Bel Air/Biscayne/Impala body shell-but nowhere on the vehicle are any badges other than "SS", known corporately as a "B-Body" or full-size car. The 1967 Chevelle/Malibu is an "A-Body" car, or intermediate size vehicle, GM had a very strict edict on not installing any engines exceeding 400 cubic inches in A-Body vehicles, lest they be faster than the Corvette...which was entirely possible due to their lighter weight. Here's my '67 SS 427 and a '67 Chevelle SS 396 for comparison, totally different cars and chassis.) P.S. That Chevelle was for sale, $60,000 took it home for some lucky guy or gal.
