Wrapping

I hope not to get in trouble for this thread, but I have a question to ask any and all out there. Would you pay for someone to wrap your gifts? Christmas, birthday, anniversary, whatever. My wife wants to start a business wrapping gifts for holidays, and we are just trying to feel out the perspective customers. I know that most of you are not close enough to be considered costmers but would be interested in this type of service if you were? Please think if your significant other would be interested as well, sometimes one will and the other prefers to do it themselves. Just curious and thanks for the honest opinion. Just to make clear as well, I'm not trying to make money off the forum, this is just a basic yes or no question.

I'd have to say no. The only time I get the gift wrapped at a store is if it is built in the cost of the item. Otherwise, I wrap all my gifts myself and enjoy doing so, as I believe it is more personable.

The only time I buy a gift like Jay I also enjoy wrapping it. But, there are always those who think different. A lot of Department stores still offer it in their stores.

Same story with me, I wouldn't pay someone to do something I can do (and enjoy doing) myself. Don't get discouraged though, I'm sure there are many people who don't like wrapping presents, or don't have the time to mess with it, and would be very happy to have someone who is good at wrapping to wrap their presents. Especially if you are good, and give a high quality service at a reasonable price. If you build it, they will come. Just my

On military bases, organizations wrap presents for a fee to buy presents for kids who wouldn't otherwise get them. Yes, I would pay for that.

Depending on the pace in your town, I think many would pay if you also did pick up and delivery. Heck, people will even pay someone dressed in a Santa suit to deliver presents to theirs kids. Some people will pay for anything!

yes/no: Nope, I do it myself, however, if I'm pressed for time, then yes, I would.

Pick up and delivery could be arranged, I left that out to begin with. That could come if demand were there.

I had to give you a yes vote even though I do it myself. The reason I voted yes is that I know of two very successful businesses here in Austin. Both do gift wrapping and party decorations as well as holiday interior decorating. Good luck and let us know how it's going.
