ZZ Top Concert

I flew to Raleigh last weekend to see ZZ Top, didn't know Cheap Trick was going to open for them, most may not be familiar with them but they were great in the late 70s. it was a great concert.

Those amps don't have 11. Not stacked high enough.

I saw ZZ Top back in '76.. World Wide Texas Tour. Pittsburgh, Three Rivers Stadium. Arrowsmith opened for them...

Dusty Hill had an M-80 firecracker explode inches from his face. Stepped back a few feet, shook his head and went right back to playing.

Arrowsmith trashed the dressing rooms...

The Bison got loose and trashed the baseball field...

Riot in the parking lot...

250 injured...

Only three people died...

It was a great show.

I had tickets for the Eliminator tour in February 1984 as a college Freshman, but I had a 103* fever from the flu that day. One of my friends accepted my gift... Still haven't seen them. Check it. It was 2/9/84 at Notre Dame.

jjredsoxfan - lucky.
I am a big fan of the ZZ-top. I have all their albums, always in my car. And Gibbons' solo albums, and even some of his recordings with other artists.
Great group, and still relevant.
Unfortunately, I have never been to a concert, but really want to. They were in Moscow a couple of times, but I could not buy a ticket. And Moscow is far from me, not as simple as a visit to a neighboring stall for a beer.

What amazes me is they still sound great after 50 years, Dusty is 70 years old and Billy Gibbons will be soon.

yes it is amazing
I think guys just enjoy their work
