Blend door knocking

Ok Question.... The blend door actuator is super close to the side of the dash bracket, like 1/8" gap , unlike in the video, but that is my issue, the blend door slaps making that loud knock for a few seconds. There is no way possible to access the screws to remove it so, has anyone ever done this fix? is it possible to drop that whole side of the box without disconnecting ac/heat lines or removing the whole dash?

Blend door knocking

Blend door actuator knocking, Has anyone replaced theirs and how?
I got behind the glove box and there is no room to get any tools in there (1/8") between the part and dash bracket (side of dash)

was wondering if theres a way to get to it to replace myself or if it can be dropped without disconnecting ac/heat lines? or is this a dealer repair? The blend door slaps creating a super loud knocking for a few seconds at start up.
This is from youtube, same issue but no access to get to the part

Does the blend door work correctly?
If so, as it has been said, "If it works, don't mess with it".
From your description, it looks like a lot of work to make it factory.

I know its mixed in my newb post, but thought this would get more techie hits for those who don't read other threads, not technically a double post, just more up front for the issue.

yes, when its closed to pull outside air it "knocks" several time on start up, I also read it can cause battery drain when the car is off, then when you select recirculating, the door pulls to the front closing off the outside vent. So it works, I watched it as I selected the settings. on the vent setting it closes off inside and for about 20 knocks it just gaps about 1/8" and slams closed, I pushed on the actual door and its pretty tough when doing it ( I was gentle as I didn't want to break anything ) Im really surprised it can actually be that loud for barely moving. Im almost thinking to just unplug it if it will stay in the recirculating position. BUT Id rather have it fixed than rigged.

I believe the dash needs to come apart for replacement of that actuator... Not an easy job

There are 3 actuators, which one are you having trouble with?
