That was my next idea, about the end brackets , you shouldn’t have to move it very far back .
I can’t imagine on the assembly line the dash has to be pieced together.

It's not in the HVAC section of the Haynes. There is some instruction in the body section.

Yes, I see that.... BUT its detailed on removing the dash. I don't see a reason to take the console out?? Once I get the top dash cover off ( closest to the windshield ) it should be accessible from that point BUT holy crap you have to start dismantling from the shifter up since the dash was built from the top down..... engineers I swear, always building around the parts on these newer cars !

Too hot outside in full sun to do now so hopefully a cooler day soon to dig in, Ill probly just detail the engine bay for now starting with a good scrubbing to get dirt, grime and oils off everything.

I am pulling the dash apart now, book doesn't show how but the passenger airbag needs to come out to pull the top cover off apparently? I don't want to damage the airbag cover as I don't know if it pops off or what but seems to be snapped into the top cover? Any help would be great ASAP

It's on the next page, there are tabs that hold it in place. A picture would have been nice to have in the manual.

I only see (2) 10mm nuts to be removed from the underside (above glove box) that holds the airbag in place, disconnected the airbag wiring and could only get the airbag cover to pop up about 1/4" on front and sides but the back wouldn't budge and difficult to try and pry ( I need a few other types pry tools I should go get a set ) so for now everything is back together, Ill try again at a later date to remove the passenger airbag and see if I can get this done. what a PITA. Checking with my son n law to see if they have info on getting it out, the heat beat me to death out there...lol

I would think that when the airbag deploys you wouldn't want that plastic door hitting you in the face first... Maybe it's hinged at the back.
