A/C question

I'm having a problem with my a/c. When I start it in the morning it runs cold but after I drive it awhile it gets luke warm. If I leave it in the low speed it cools great but when I go any other speed it does not. I looked today with the hood up and the compressor engages all the time in the low speed, but when I go any other speed the compressor switches off and on. So to test a theory I had hose water on the low pressure cutoff switch and the compressor engaged all the time in other speeds but when I turn the hose off it would turn off and on. So that being said is my cutoff switch going bad or is it something else. I have a 2008 HHR 1/2 panel with the 2.4L I have the a/c control on and recirculate on as well. Any info would be greatly welcomed. Thanks

Sound like you may need some R134a.

A job for a pro.

I plan on it. Gonna take it Tuesday but just wondering if I could troubleshoot some things before I take it in. Hate to waste the money if it's something that I could have fixed. But thanks for the replies.

It might be something easy to fix, but detrimental to the environment if it springs a leak and blasts the R134A out into the atmosphere! That wouldn't be good.
