I just did my cabin air filter and mine was 14.99 at Pep Boys. I changed it out myself. It was easier than I thought it was going to be. I just followed the instructions in the manual and boom...done. Yes, definitely make sure the glovebox is totally empty FIRST! My dealership was going to charge me $85 to do it. I saved myself $70!!

All I have to say is WOW! I have just bought my 2007 HHR and stumbled across this thread so I HAD to go and look..... OMG!!! it was tar black and full of twigs and leaves and sand(!?!?!?) I had just assumed the blower fan was weak and didn't blow that hard...lol replace the filter bought one from Autozone for $14.00 took me maybe 10 min to replace.... 30 seconds to remove and 91/2 minutes to install. turned on the heater and was shocked at how much more air blows from the vents now! thanks for the good info keep it coming!

I just received/installed a TYC cabin filter from Amazon. $8.25! I couldn't tell the difference from the OEM I removed (except it didn't come with all the dirt and crud). Looks like RockAuto is about $7+, but I don't know what their shipping is.
