Another big thank you for the detailed write up. Just changed the air filter for the first time in the hhr, and can not believe the process. I need to find a gmpp cold air intake now!

Great how-to with timeless information. My 08 had me scratching my head, never guessed "grommets". Thank you!

Replaced the air filter again today... i seriously hate the design. My neighbour came over when he saw everything taken apart and asked what the heck i was doing, so i told him about the air filter housing and the procedure you have to go through to change it, he was baffled! It was quite amusing.

Changed the cabin air filter for the first time today, and it was filthy. Leaves and all, shoved in there. The replacement filter seemed kind of flimsy (fram) but i got it in nonetheless. 93,000 kms on cabin air filter (since august 09) and i put about 60,000 kms on the engine air filter (since november 09).

Just a question... Is the air filter yellow to begin with or is mine very discolored? I took it apart today to check it, and it's very yellow... It's not terribly dirty, but for $14 I figure I might as well replace it since it's 4 years old and I have it out...
