How do you clean the scuff guards on the rear door in front of the rear wheels. it is the plastic thing they put on to protect the finish, thanks in advance? JIM

Umm,you wash them.
If that doesnt get them clean, then chances are they are worn, not dirty.

All you can do is wax over them. With time they can get a frosted look and you can replace them.

They take the beating the paint would have.

I use Meguiar's Plastx for the 3M protective film on my GM vehicles as well as the bug deflectors on my pickups and the convertible windows on my Suzuki Samurai. It works well for the window vent shades too. The stuff makes any smooth plastic look like glass. It's sort of like a polishing compound for plastic and hides scratches very well.

There are actually two types of fender protection. The 3M film I think was on 2007 and later if no running boards are installed. The 2006s had thick plastic guard plates painted like the body.
The OP doesnt state which he has, so either replace the 3M film or repaint the guards. I havent tried that plastic polish, but it sounds like it might be a good option for the film if the damage isnt severe gouges.

I think the 2006's and 2007's have a fairly heavy plastic scuff guard, and in 2008 GM went to, I'm sure, a lower cost plastic film. I know my 2007 has the heavy pad, which so far cleans up well. I have added mud guards front and back, which also help.
