Im sure nobody cares, but I called two different dealers in Tampa, FL and they both stated the part ending in 15 is correct for my VIN, so I guess thats the one I will go with.

They both say they fit all 2008-2011. Neither fits prior to 2008.

Mitchell Estimator says 25956916 is for FE1 and 25956915 is for FE3, all years.

I don't think you would notice a difference. Come to think; the FE1 has 16 inch wheels FE3/FE5 has 17 or 18 inch, so I guess the ratio might make a difference to someone.

Interesting. Why would the dealer check by VIN come up with the FE3 version if I have the FE1? Is it because mine is a 2006 model? I am willing to bet that I would need whatever one went into Oldblue, but I dont know if they gave him the Part # for it. How confusing. I just dont want to order a whole rack and have it turn out to be a different length or something. When I mentioned the one ending in 16 only the dealer who could not find it by VIN mentioned it was an option, the other two sated only the 15 was an option. I wonder if they just did away with the 16 for the later years. Like I said according to the books they have the exact same dimensions, and the inner/outer tie rod ends are the same Part number regardless of suspension. So I think it is narrowed down to lock to lock steering. Afterall, it does "feel" more sporty when you have to turn the wheel less to get more movement. 25956915 seems to be the safe option, I think.

They are the same length, the GM factory one I installed in Oldblue came with the outer tierod ends installed and adjusted to correct size, if you’ll recall I didn’t have to do anything for the front end alignment but adjust the steering column three splines to centre the steering wheel.

Weird. I would think mine would take the same one as yours???? I dont know. Vin Match says to use 915 for my 2006 2.4....but I have the FE1 like in Oldblue........Confusing. I'm sure there isnt a difference between the two though. at least not dimension wise.

You will be hard pressed to find any after-market FE1 parts. They were really "fleet" (read soft and cheap) options.

So the 915 might be the better option?
